I'm Canadian and have been married to a Chinese lady got two years. We got married and we now both live here. What is the procedure for me to qualify for a long term (5 year) permament visa if I plan to stay longer here? I have now been living here for more than four years.

 Answered by Mr.Charles
It is very difficult to get a permanent visa. Please read the Regulations on Permanent Residence of Aliens on the website https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa/refusal.htm, then you know the regulations are so strict and rigorous.

Hi, I'm a US passport holder. My 1 year Chinese Visa will expire soon, but I need to stay longer for another five days. I don't think I'll have time to renew it prior to my trip.
So my question here is, can I extend or renew it while in Beijing? I thank you in advance for your prompt response.

 Answered by Mrs. Lorna(USA)
Yes, you can extend the duration of your visa at the Exit & Enter Department of Beijing Public Security Bureau before it expires.

I am a German passport holder with a working visa for Australia, wishing to travel soon - is it possible for me to obtain a visa from one of the consulates in Australia (or possibly new Zealand, as I may be traveling here in the next few months)?? Thanks :)

 Answered by Mr. Mac
Yes, you can apply from one Chinese consulate in Australia which is near to you because you hold Australian work visa which permits you stay in Australia for a long time. If you apply in New Zealand, you maybe can't get it because you just a temporary visitors to New Zealand. Please bear in mind that single entry tourist L is only valid for 3 months, please don't apply for it too early.

Inquiry on Transit Visa Requirements for Upcoming Trip in chengdu for 19 hrs to exit airport for

I am an Indian citizen reaching out to confirm the transit visa requirements for my upcoming travel itinerary and would appreciate your guidance on the following:

1. **Chengdu, China (18-hour layover) **: I have a layover of 18 hours in Chengdu and intend to exit the airport to stay at a nearby hotel and possibly explore the area briefly. Could you please advise if I require a transit visa for this purpose? I am an Indian passport holder, traveling from Chengdu to Hong Kong as my final destination.

2. **Hong Kong (3-day stay) **: From Chengdu, I will continue to Hong Kong for a short stay of three days before departing to India. Please confirm if a transit or entry visa is necessary for Indian passport holders for a stay of this duration in Hong Kong.

Could you kindly confirm if any specific visas are needed for these layovers and stays? I want to ensure my travel goes smoothly and that I meet all necessary visa requirements.

1. You don't need a transit visa for the 18 hours layover in Chengdu as you are covered by the 24h visa free transit. To leave the airport, you need to get a 24h temporary entry permit at the border counter.
2. You enjoy 14 days visa free entry to HK but you must complete pre-arrival registration online before entering. You can do it on this official webpage: https://www.immd.gov.hk/eng/services/visas/pre-arrival_registration_for_indian_nationals.html

No, you don't. You will go through the immigration checks at Beijing airport and then you get 30 free days to travel in Mainland China without visa. That is to stay you will get your 30-day in Beijing and then you are free to travel anywhere in Chinese Mainland, Xi'an included.

You can apply for Shenzhen VOA at Luohu, Shekou or Huanggang Port but it's not guaranteed that you can successfully get one. Considering you plan to go to both Shenzhen and Guangzhou, I advise you to obtain a tourist visa at HK visa center.
