We had the opportunity to book a tour with Travel China Guide. Our guide in Xi’an Carol Chen was a fantastic guide right from the moment she picked us up from the airport to the time when we separated to go to the airport. We wished we had stayed longer and continue the tour with the others. She has so much detailed information about the City and the history of Xi’an during the time of the five dynasties. She took us to see the Terracotta Soldiers, City Wall, tour the bustling Muslim town and view the Chinese opera show. Her narrations were excellent while on our way to each site and also at each specific location. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. We are very pleased with the Xi’an tour.

My second visit to this absolutely stunning place. The interplay of colors if lakes, waterfalls, grass and autumn foliage - neither my description or photographs can do it justice. Go, and spend more than 1 day if you can to fully absorb and enjoy this fairyland.

We loved our time in Chengdu with our fantastic guide Bella! The trip was magical in many ways, including exploring the city and seeing the “pandas”climbing the buildings, having authentic tea by the river, but of course, seeing the pandas and a 4 month old baby panda . Bella is very knowledgeable about the city and is a Panda expert, knowing the names of most of the pandas in the Panda Base. We wish we had 2-3 more days in the city, and we will be back to Chengdu in the future.

The views of the mountains around the Li river were amazingly beautiful. The evening in Yanghuo was fun, especially with the addition of an evening show recommended by our guide featuring local community fishers as well as water buffaloes and cormorants :). Our guide Lily Cao was super helpful, kind, knowledgeable. A real pleasure. Thank you!

Xi’an truly is the capital of culture! While the terracotta warriors is a highlight, the city has so much more. We luckily had an amazing guide, Susan, who introduced us to the rich heritage and helped us to explore the city and the delicious regional specialties. We particularly enjoyed cycling the city wall (a must do!) along with the unique lunch in the Muslim quarter. Susan tailored the tour to our interests and gave us insight into the life of the local people. I would recommend this tour and if you have Susan as your guide you will learn a lot and have fun!

Xian is an amazing city—and the terra cotta warriors are a must-see. Do yourself a favor and book this longer tour with the Small Pagoda and City Wall as well—it was a great day! Our guide Tracy expertly navigated use thru each stop, made sure we got the good photo ops and have use plenty of time to wander. Highly recommend!

The Mini Group Xian Day Tour to the Terracotta Army, City Wall, Pagoda, and Muslim Bazaar was amazing. I would like to thank Roger, who did a fantastic job making this trip perfect. Lindsay was our guide and we were a group of two (couple). She was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and great at communication. Not to mention, up for the challenge of being very active during our tour with how much we wanted to walk / hike while exploring Zhangjiajje (on our first day alone we logged 30,000 steps). It takes a lot and we were so impressed with her all around.

She really went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable during the various aspects of travel and dining, and spent some extra time with us on the days we were in Fenghuang and Furong Ancient Town. She has our highest recommendation!

Our days were further enhanced by the charms of our wonderful guide Yolin who was informative, recounted the local customs of the minority tribes inhabiting this Chinese region and she sang for us. My husband and I travelled around China primarily on our own; but to see the Terracotta Army in Xi'an, we opted for a small tour with this company. Our guide was Celine, and she was superb! Not only was she very knowledgable about the exhibit and the surrounding history, she also knew her way around and had a dozen little tricks up her sleeve to avoid crowds and have a pleasant experience. She knew when to "guide" and when to give us space to explore. After the visit she took the group to a very nice spot for a delicious lunch, where we got to chat with the other half-dozen group members. The group included a couple of children, and Celine was great at engaging and accommodating them. Celine was amiable and interesting, and her English is impeccable. She added a lot to our experience. My ideal guide!

We opted for this tour company over others because we liked the idea of a mini group (max 9), the tour company had good reviews and the itinerary looked promising. The sights didn’t disappoint. The Terracotta Army was amazing and the temporary exhibition showcasing the history and artefacts well presented. The city wall was grand and well preserved - worth a 2nd leisurely visit. Being a Tue, the pagoda was closed so we went to the Great Mosque of Xi’An and discovered such a unique mosque in traditional Chinese architecture. But what made this truly truly truly fabulous was our tour guide, Susan - she shared the background of the sights we saw with passion, knowledge and in such a cheerful and lively manner. She was also organized and very responsible contacting us the day before our trip and being reachable after the trip too. Her local knowledge was freely shared and she gave us good recommendations on where to eat and visit and tips to avoid being scammed! If you take this tour and get Susan as your guide, count yourself blessed!

Travel China Guide provided outstanding service and communication, and we had an exceptional trip. Our Travel Consultant, Emily Xin, was very responsive and efficient, and took care of all our needs and customization requests. She was very proactive in ensuring that everything was organized so that the trip would go smoothly, including arranging for us to pick up the official Tibet Travel Permit during a short transfer in Beijing airport. Overall, Emily provided outstanding customer service, and we had absolute confidence in her.
As for the actual trip, travelling to Everest Base camp, starting in Lhasa, was epic. Thanks to our outstanding guide Tsedron, we were introduced to the traditions of Tibet, learned about the history and Tibetan Buddhism, while enjoying spectacular mountain and river scenery. The trip was extremely well organized while feeling relaxed and well taken care of. The hotels were excellent, as was the driver who was very friendly and who drove very well and safely over long distances and mountain passes. The expertise and kindness shown by Tsedron while explaining all the sights really stood out and made the trip incredibly special. Overall, this was an exceptional and memorable trip, we would definitely use Travel China Guide again.

When we decided to take a trip to China, we chose to contact the travel company Travel China Guide Tours. It was an excellent decision. We had a fabulous time in Shehan. Thanks to our Travel China Guide Carol. We felt very cared for, and she is extremely knowledgeable about all the sites we saw, the terra-cotta Warriors, the pagoda, and the Muslim Bazaar. Carol encouraged us to consider a special evening of Xian dumplings and dance which gave us a cultural appreciation of the city.Carol was very personable, friendly, and was in tune with our needs the entire time. We loved our tour of Guilin and Yangshuo with our amazing guide Samantha. We would highly recommend the trip, with a good mix of activities, from the magical Li River Cruise to taking scooters around the countryside. Samantha really made sure we had a great time and is a real local expert.

We had a fantastic day with Chloe our guide. Despite the typhoon weather, we were able to have a good day seeing the sights and making the most of our time in Shanghai. Chloe was able to tailor the day to fit our interests and was a pleasure to spend time with. We enjoyed trying the different Shanghai speciality’s and the museum was a highlight.

A highly recommended day trip outside of Shanghai. It’s a unique experience to see a traditional water village and beautiful gardens. Our guide Chloe was informative and made sure we had all of our questions answered. We had the chance to meet local artists, and enjoy a traditional lunch. I would recommend the tour, and if you are lucky to get Chloe as your guide you will have a good time!

It was the highlight of my trip to Beijing. Hellen contacted me the day before, and she arranged pick up in my hotel so I didn’t have to worry about anything. I love Chinese history and she told us so many great stories about empress Cisi, the first emperor of china, the Great Wall etc. The whole group was super happy with her and after the tour they dropped us in a nice downtown area and we had dinner together. 5 starts.

My tour guide was Tracy. I shared the tour with other 7 people, so it was a pretty personalized tour. Tracy had much knowledge to share. She explained the most important dynasties and the importance of them. We visited all that was in the itinerary and no shopping was included. We had plenty of time to look around, and Tracy asked us every time if we needed more time for photos. So we did not feel rushed. I will recommend it again and if you get Tracy, then you are in for a treat. She was fantastic!

Travel China Guide is a good company, and Tracy was an excellent tour guide. We debated whether to visit the Terracotta Warriors on our own, because there is a lot of information on the internet about how to do it. But we are so glad we went with a tour!

There are so many complicated issues that come up regarding transportation, tickets, entrances, security checks, etc. Tracy was able to give us valuable advice regarding what order to do things in, where to get the best photos, and background information on what we were viewing (which is not available by just visiting). She even helped a member of our party who was stopped for a backpack full of photographic equipment.

Best of all, Tracy was informative and entertaining. The bus driver was good also. Even though the tour description says lunch is on your own, Tracy led us to a very good restaurant which allowed everyone to sit together and order whatever they wanted. She just made the whole tour so much easier to navigate.

Small Wild Goose Pagoda was beautiful, but because of renovation we were not able to visit inside. City wall was nice, but that I think you can do on your own. We decided not to go to the Muslim Bazaar with the tour, but will definitely go on our own.

We had a wonderful 2-days tour to the greatest highlights of Beijing, among them the Great Wall, Old Beijing, Temple of Heaven, Lama Temple, and Forbidden City. The tour started by picking us up at our hotel, and we were also dropped off at the end of the day. The visits to the various points were very well distributed including lunch and time to rest or take photos. Be prepared to long walks though. KEVIN our guide was amazing showing great historical and cultural knowledges. He was very kind and gave us precise timely instructions where to meet and the best angles to take pictures. We enjoyed a lot and highly recommend this tour and especially want to say thank you Kevin!

We spent 4 days in ZhangJiaJie with Travel China Tours and our local guide Mr Luo Jia Le was the best guide we ever had! He was very experienced and professional, making our visit to ZhangJiaJie a very memorable experience. He showed us all the important sites, and all the various spots for the best photos.
ZhangJieJie is really an amazing place, the scenery was really awesome. We were impressed by how modern ZhangJiaJie is, with its super speed escalator which brough us right up to the highest point within 88 seconds!, saving us the tiring climb. Even the numerous escalators down were impressive. ZhangJieJie has many fun activities such as the Cliff Walk, Bungee, Zipline, VR.

Special mention to our Travel Consultant Ms Emily Xin at China Travel Tours. Emily assisted in planning our 16 days itinerary with great details, patience and so professional with almost instant response, making our holidays a wonderful unforgettable time in China.

The mini group tour is a very good opportunity to cover the most popular spots in Xi'An. Our guide Lily picked us up from our Hotel and we drove straight to the Terracotta Army. Lily's extensive background knowledge allowed us to really learn a lot about the historical backgrounds of the army, the emperor and the dynasties.
The tour included also the small wild goose pagoda, the city wall and ended at the Muslim Bazaar. We had wonderful weather and Lily pointed us towards the best photo spots. I would really recommend this tour to anyone visiting Xi'An.

After a lot of email correspondence I would like to thank Sally Si for arranging a wonderful seamless bespoke itinerary for our tour of the Yunnan province that was within my budget. Our hotels we of a good standard also our guides were friendly knowledgeable and very helpful nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend using this company. My only concern was paying by bank transfer instead of credit card but it worked out fine and I received an invoice immediately after they received my payment so I will definitely use Travel China Guide again in the future.

Amy Jian from Travel China Guide is a very efficient n competent travel consultant. I just let her know the places we want to visit in Beijing,Xian, Chongqing n the Yangtze cruise we want to take and also we a group of 10 would like to travel from each city by fast trains. We went for the mini tours in Beijing, Xian, Chongqing and the Yangtze River Cruise to the 3 Gorges Dam arranged by Amy Jian, who did an excellent job for the group of 10 of us. We were taken good care of and she did a fantastic job of making sure our needs are taken care of.

Absolutely fantastic tour, highly recommend!! Celine was awesome!! Her English was excellent, she was extremely knowledgeable about Chinese History and the City, she kept everyone well hydrated with ample water available and help us translate at lunchtime to ensure we all got to try amazing local dishes which were of excellent quality but quite cheap compared to Australian prices anyway. She went above and beyond, even helped me with a power bank rental when my phone almost died. The tour was well organised, informative, and they got us to the terracotta warriors before the big crowds so we could get easy photos and not much pushing to see the warriors. We spent a good amount of time everywhere we went, never felt rushed, and Celine knew the spots to get the best photos. We were even lucky enough to see a special limited time exhibition at the Terracotta Warriors site. The little wild goose pagoda, Xi’an museum and city wall were also well worth seeing. At the end of the tour we had the option of being taken back to our hotels or being dropped off at Muslim Street to enjoy the street food, shops and crowds. Would come back again to this tour and recommend to all my family and friends. Was truly fantastic and I can’t recommend or thank Celine enough!! Thank you!
